The Importance of Good Nutrition
Treatment vs. Cure
Medicine is devoted to treatment. The word "treatment" derives from Latin and signifies:
- to calm and appease symptoms
- to help, but not cure the problem
Thus medicine does not go in depth and to the cause of the problem.
Whereas "cure" signifies:
- to resolve the source or root of the impairment
- to transform the causes and deeper problems
Today's average life expectancy is 75 to 80 years old.
The 3 major "killers":
1) Heart attack
2) Cancer
3) Heart disease
Doctors often hear the following complaints:
- headache
- allergies
- fatigue
- sleeping problems
- emotional problems
- depression
All of these problems are symptoms of improper nutrition. Sickness results when there is an imbalance at the base of good health-- the cellular level.
Health at the Cellular Level
The body contains 80 to 100 trillion cells. Equivalent to 20 or 30 thousand times the Earth's population (6 billion). These cells do not always receive sufficient nutrition because of the way that our food (fruit and vegetables) grow. Fruit and vegetables are harvested before nutritional elements mature, are packaged prematurely and are frozen too quickly. Also, because of our modern life, the salt and fat content of our food is too high. Too much frying and too much cooking; there is nothing but fat, starch and toxins that remain. Consequently, nutrients, vitamins and minerals are destroyed and lost. Every day, the body must nourish and replace millions of cells. In order to achieve optimum cell performance, cells need adequate and balanced nutrition everyday.
Digestive Health
All this begins with the digestive system. Often the stomach's efficiency is reduced because of stress. Also, alcohol, illness, medication and drugs influence the body's ability to break down, digest and absorb food.
Cilia along the inner wall of the intestine assimilate nutrients. When these cilia are congested with chemical waste, they cannot fulfill their function, which is to allow nutrients to be transported by the blood to the organs. When cells are not properly nourished, there is an imbalance. The effects of this imbalance are: weight gain, burn-out, lack of energy, anxiety and heart problems. There is no proof that there must be a natural deterioration with age.
Nutritional Health
Start with balanced nutrition, look after your body and your cells will be able to heal, repair, reproduce and function well.
Sometimes, the smallest action can produce the biggest miracle. With Herbalife's cell nutrition program, there is no excess nor lack of nutrients. An equilibrium is reached using botanicals. The products are not dangerous and are made to work together.
Problems that create sickness are:
- idleness (lack of activity)
- inadequate nutrition
- inhaling nicotine
- obesity a) 25% of adults are obese
b) 60% of women try to lose weight
Unfortunately, sugar and fat are associated with pleasure. When dealing with addiction, we can distance ourselves from alcohol or drugs, but not food.
Explaining Fat Storage (Cellulite)
Certain cells are called fat cell . They have two systems:
1) fat and energy storing system
2) fat and energy releasing system
When there is an imbalance in the body, the second system does not work well and this creates what we call "cellulite."
Cellulite is a fat and toxin reservoir. At night, fat cells are supposed to release fat. When the second system is not working, the cells continue to store and grow, usually around the hips and thighs. .
Using advanced technology, numerous herbs and botanicals are compressed into tablets for this nutritional regime. With the products, we can control what we eat--without fearing food--we can lose weight and live healthy.
